Care for work project aims to develope knowledge about the competencies related to care and assistence activities for people with acquired physical disability; it aims to promote continuous training in care sector and to spread “care assistance sector” as a new employment source. The project started in 01/10/09 and will conclude in 30/09/11.
General description of the project
“Care for Work” is a tranfer of innovation based on a previous project named “Qualified care” which was directed to the elaboration of training contents about the care of people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.
Care for work project aims to develope knowledge about the competencies related to care and assistence activities for people with acquired physical disability; it aims to promote continuous training in care sector and to spread “care assistance sector” as a new employment source. End users of the project
The project is directed to everyone wants to improve care and assistance competecies related to physical acquired disability (care and assistance operators, people in training, relatives of disabled people....).
The partnership
“Care for Work” partnership is composed by 8 subjects from 5 different EU countries with the necessary skills and expertise for the successful development of the project. The consortium is composed by organisations of different nature such as: a Public Local Health Service; a consultancy firm specialised in social and market research and in the execution of national and European projects; an engineering company specialised in health assistance; a non for profit educational association; an association for the fight against multiple sclerosis; a training and education charity; a non profit making and non-governmental training organisation; a video production company.
Expected products
Care for Work will combine e-learning (Web 2.0 learning environment which will be based on Qualified Care LdV Project resulting tool) and mobile learning (reproduction of short films in MP4), providing a flexible training for workers of care services.
The main products will be:
- text documents (handbook, information sheets, etc…), which will contain specific information and training on the techniques for caring people with acquired physical disabilities
- short training films, which could be easily downloaded by the final users showing figures of care techniques and procedures, which a Report on competencies of workers from care services sector
- a Guide for the steps to adapt competencies to New Employment Sources (EN, IT, ES, BG,PL)
- dissemination activities to valorise the project.
Coordinator
INVESLAN is experienced in the development of studies and surveys in these fields (especially at national level) and in the coordination and execution of projects at national and international level (mainly through the coordination and management of Leonardo da Vinci projects).
During the last few years, INVESLAN has been particularly focused on innovative training methodologies such as e-learning and mobile learning and is working on the development of new learning environments.

It is articulated in three districts (Foligno, Spoleto and Valnerina) with health territorial centres, in Hospitals and in Depatments. The main goals of Asl3 are: to garantee health care and assistence to about 160.000 people; to guarantee quality in assistance; to promote health prevention; to have an exhaustive view of territory needs; to guarantee the correct organization and implementation of care services.
Asl 3 is involved in the proposed project as an organisation which guarantees health and social care services for disabled people and their families and which promotes innovation and experimental projects and develops research and dissemination on problems related to disability (in the fields of education, rehabilitation, health care assistence, social integration strategies).
ABDEM works in the following fields: Psychological and social support for people who suffer from multiple sclerosis and for their relatives and carers; Rehabilitation; Neuro-Rehabilitation; Training; Research; Social awareness and Dissemination. The Association has broad experience in working with people with disabilities, especially with those still in employment. Through this work, ABDEM has identified the need for the development of a training programme that will facilitate the integration of people with disabilities in the labour market.
Furthermore, Point Europa have extensive experience in the development and validation of European Projects, including the Leonardo de Vinci and Gruntvig programmes. Cornwall has one of the highest percentages of elderly people in Europe, Point Europa works actively with the National Health Service, adult care organisations and care homes to provide support and new training where needed.

With reference to education the main activities are related to collaborate in designing educative multimedia materials for specific purposes (with respect to usability, structure, media, etc…) like CDROM/DVD and on-line courses, thought for ODL and blended applications.
With reference to assistive technologies it is supporting specific training programmes in the field of technological aids and tele-rehabilitation applications (www.nureha.eu).
Pragma is gained a specific experience in participating to EU funded initiatives like LLP and R&D programmes.
