Description:
The ELDICO project aims at developing a new job profile, namely, Disability Counsellor. This new professional profile will focus upon providing guidance and counselling to disabled persons with regard to their insertion in the labour market and into active life. Beginning with a training/skills needs analysis and a benchmarking study on existing training practices for counsellors, the project will define the Disability Counsellor professional profile. Beyond this, the project will develop a web-based learning system, a range of traditional teaching tools and an assessment method for skills certification and the recognition of training credit. A piloting phase will be undertaken with the results leading to the introduction of a good practice guide, an outline curriculum for the training of Disabilty Counsellors and a web-based training model. Primary project beneficiaries are tutors and counsellors working with persons with disabilities. Disemination will rely upon the distribution of project information leaflets, the organisation of seminars and conferences, the release of articles to specialist press and the networking of relevant stakeholders in the validation of end project results.

Il progetto, proposto da un ampio partenariato transnazionale e multiattore guidato dalla FENASPIC - Federazione Nazionale ASPIC, mira alla definizione delle competenze e del modello formativo di una nuova figura professionale, il Disability Counselor.
Il Counselor specializzato nell'orientamento delle persone con disabilità, si propone come agevolatore della piena valorizzazione delle abilità residue della persona, coniugando le skills relazionali tipiche del counseling con un uso avanzato delle Tecnologie dell'Informazione e della Comunicazione.
